GENERAL NEWS:
Congratulations to every student who has been on time to all classes so far this school year. We have our winners of the PGHS Every Day Counts, Every Minute Matters Tardy Initiative raffle for the month of October.  The winners being awarded for their punctuality by grade level are…..

9th grade: Katie Ngo- Front of the line pass and Starbucks Card

10th grade: Kenneth Overmyer- Front of the line pass and Starbucks Card

11th grade: Katie Matsumoto- Starbucks Card and $5 PG Bucks

12th grade: Nathan Hill- Reserved VIP Parking

The next Raffle is in November and prizes are cumulative.  Be on time to all of your classes, because every day counts, and every minute matters!

Yearbook wants your spirit week and homecoming photos! Send your pictures to our Instagram @pghsyearbook and tell us who is in the photo with you. Your photos might be featured in this year’s yearbook! (A. Sousa, 10/19)

LIBRARY NEWS:
 
Teen Library Club meets TODAY, Friday, Oct. 19 both lunches at Library Work Room.  Bring your lunch & arrive early to get your TLC TREAT during important meeting in library work room.   Students with overdue library books, please RETURN or RENEW books before/after school or during lunch.  Thank you! CAREER CENTER NEWS:

The Career Center is closed during lunch today due to college application workshops.

Sacramento Area Girls Fire Camp
is being held November 3-4 from 7:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.  This camp will have instruction from women firefighters, provide hands-on training with tools & equipment, teach basic first aid/CPR and much more!!! If you are interested sign up asap @ www.sacgirlsfirecamp.eventbrite.com 

UC Davis is coming November 9th..sign up in the Career Center!

CLUB/ACADEMY/ACADEMIC NEWS:

Bhangra Club Multicultural Assembly Practice TODAY in HP13, from 3:15 to 4:15. (A. Padda, 10/19)

The IDEA Academy will be hosting a movie night tonight in the cafeteria. Doors open at 5 and movie starts at 5:30. There will be pizza and candy on sale throughout the movie. Admission is $5 without IDEA merchandise and $3 with IDEA merchandise. IDEA hoodies will be on sale. This is a great way to earn your IDEA points. (B. Nguyen/E.Bainer, 10/19)

In preparation for 
Veteran’s Day, the Biomedical Academy is hosting a donation drive through Friday, November 2nd, for Blue Star Moms, which collects donated goods for overseas military service men and women.  The collection boxes are in rooms HL8 (Myers), HL4 (Tabares), Portable 6 (Chapman/Cochon), HP10 (Steinheimer), HH8 (Winder), Library and Mrs. Allen's office in Student Services.  A complete list of donation items are attached to the box, but examples include: nonperishable food, books, CDs, DVDs, and unused hygiene items (conditioner, toothbrushes, baby wipes). (J. COMMUNITY SERVICE:
Volunteers are needed for EGUSD Map Your Future Event, which will be held on Thursday, October 25 from 5:30pm – 7:30pm. Volunteers should arrive at the SES Hall, 10427 East Stockton Blvd., Elk Grove by 4PM and find Sundeep Dosanjh for instructions! to sign up please email Sundeep at sdosanjh@egusd.net.

Do you need your community service hours?  Have some fun while working at the Dillard Elementary Fall Carnival.  The carnival is on Saturday, October 27th from 4pm to 8pm.  Contact Courtney Pettenger to sign up at Carnival@DillardPTO.com or text 916-835-7761.

GENERAL & FUTURE NEWS:
Seniors… Bus #1 for Disneyland is FULL.  If you want to go to Disneyland in March with the seniors we need 40 more seniors to go and  bus #2 must fill by the end of October. Questions, see Mr. Platt.
