Culture & Climate (PBIS)
What is PBIS?
PBIS (Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports) is designed to help create an environment that seeks to promote academic, social-emotional, and behavioral competence in all students. At PGHS, this is promoted through the establishment of expected behaviors, explicit instruction and lesson on those behaviors (through advocacy), and positive recognition of students who exemplify those behaviors.
At Pleasant Grove High School, we have developed the 4 B’s: Be Safe, Be Responsible, Be Respectful, and Be Your Best. The goal of implementing the 4 B’s is to create a positive culture and climate on campus, while recognizing all students and encouraging their growth in a positive, inclusive manner. Students may be recognized with PG Platinum tickets, monthly luncheons with staff members, validation notes, or even postcards home!
